We have four significant projects we are working on in 2015 they are:-
Developing Bedfordshire’s Health & Wellbeing Conference
We want to bring together all Bedfordshire’s NGOs, businesses, Government agencies, charities and conservation bodies – in fact anyone who has an interest in the mental and physical health benefits of being connected to nature. We are looking to plan and implement an event (potentially a conference), to showcase and learn from local, regional and national best practice, improving our combined ways of working, leading to a better coordinated approach to delivering this vital public health service. We are looking for partners and sponsors to come on board now so please get in contact to help develop and deliver this exciting event.
Valuing Bedfordshire’s natural environment
We will create and publish a single source document that describes the current state of Bedfordshire’s natural environment proposing where investment is needed, clearly showing what benefits there will be for nature and for people and what that will deliver economically. This important base line document will set out a strategy that will help inform development and investment in Bedfordshire’s environment and propose an engagement plan to make it happen. We need a team of relevant stakeholders to start scoping this out now. We are for sponsors to come on board now so please get in contact to help develop and deliver this vital strategy.
Helping planners & developers
We will establish policy for the Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership that builds a seamless link between planning and developers, delivering for nature and people. This will be specific to Bedfordshire’s environment and deliver for its priority species and habitats. It will clearly state what the Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership think is good practice and show how Community Infrastructure Levy money can be used to support its policies. We will then create a toolkit that can be shared with developers at pre-application stage. We are looking for partners and sponsors to come join us to make this happen, so if you are involved with planning or development please get in contact now.
Fundraising for the Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership
The Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership doesn’t employ staff. It’s a diverse partnership of organisations working together to coordinate activities, pool resources and share ideas. We have limited funding but to make our ambitions reality, we need more funding now to operate and sustained funding to continue into the future. We are looking for funders and sponsor to come on board with the above priorities and to help fund our modest operating costs, so please get in contact to discuss how you can get involved now.
